Admissions

Swallownest Primary will not refuse admission of a child to the school on any grounds other than if the limit, set by the Governing Body, has been reached in a particular year group or if to admit a child would prejudice the efficient education of children already in the school. The Governing Body  support a maximum class size of thirty.

Children can enter the school from the term after their third birthday to join our Foundation 1 class, taking advantage of the governments offer of 15 hours free nursery education.  Children joining our nursery are usually admitted each September. Sometimes children can be admitted in January and April should there be any vacancies.

Children enter our Foundation 2 class in September.

Before children can be admitted to the school, an admissions form must be completed and returned to the school office along with the childs birth certificate.  The school should be notified immediately of any change of address or telephone number.

Visits to the school by parents and children are highly welcomed.  All we ask is that an appointment is made in advance to meet with the Headteacher who will be happy to take time to show you around, discuss the school and answer any questions you may have.

During the Autumn Term a booklet will be sent to you by the LA with forms on which you may express a preference for which primary school you would like your child to attend.  If you do not receive a booklet please telephone the admissions office at theLA on 01709 382121.
