We encourage our pupils to be active members of the school the school community. Each year the class nominates members to join the School Council and we ask for two volunteers to join our Eco-Team.
Responsibility is a word we often hear, but do not always fully understand. In 2011 the school introduced the position of Head Boy and Head Girl in order to develop children’s understanding. Their role would be to act as the link between children and visitors who come to our school. To be elected to the position children have to write a letter of application to the Headteacher. From the applications received one boy and one girl will be selected and the winner is announced at our annual prize giving assembly.
The role of the Head Boy and Head Girl is as follows:
- Representing the pupils in the school.
- Showing visitors around the school.
- Helping the Headteacher present awards in assembly.
- Acting as role models for younger pupils.
Our current Head Boy is Owen Mills. Owen is 10 years old and he lists his interests as playing cricket and more cricket
His favourite subject is ICT and when he leaves school he wants to be a professional cricketer.
Our current Head Girl is Lauren Bonnington is 10 years old and she lists her interests as swimming and being outdoors in the garden especially in the summer.
